Ideally, a piercing ring should not be put as long as the healing of piercing is not completely finished. Besides, it is strongly advised not to wear a ring in first installation after the realization of a piercing, indeed the ring turns and tears off the flesh in healing. The healing must then start again and the process is strongly slowed down.
There are several models of ring, at Nebula we only use hinge rings. This means that a piece of the ring is attached that on one side it is therefore enough to shoot for it to open. Do not hesitate to try the mechanism of your ring before positioning it on your ears, having understood the technique it will be easier for you to remove it once worn.
It is quite possible to change your jewelry is even, especially since if you wear a ring it means that your piercing is completely healed. To change your ring just open this one and remove it. Then in order to insert your new jewel in complete safety we advise you to put a fatty substance on the stem to insert so that it slides easily. Do not hesitate to wear gloves for better grip, if you don't think you can wash your hands well before handling your piercing.
You can find a lot of different materials for rings piercings. At Nebuleuse we only use stainless steel and titanium. For the most sensitive people it is preferable to move towards titanium, ditto for piercings having difficult to heal. We also offer silver creoles but they are not suitable for cartilage piercings, but only to lobes.
The size varies depending on the shape of the ear but also from the location chosen to position the ring. Thus for a ROOK ring the size of the ring is most of the time 1.2mm x 6mm, it is the same for a tragus. Regarding a helix piercing the standard size is 1.2mm x 8mm, concerning a conch you will need a wider diameter in order to reach 1.2x 10 or 12mm. However, whether for the conch, the tragus, the helix or the conch, we always advise you to measure the distance between your piercing hole and the edge of your cartilage. Take 1mm of margin and you will get the size necessary for your future ring.
